Rosalie Jean Willis is known as a professional waitress in the United States, but she is most known as the first wife of the infamous mysterious criminal Charles Manson, who was involved in various illegal activities until his death.

Charles Manson was a criminal and musician from the United States who led the Manson Family, a cult located in California, in the late 1960s.

He was involved in some mysterious and inhumane gang,  and in July and August 1969, some of the members perpetrated nine killings in four different places.

As per the report, Manson was convicted of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit the murder of seven people in 1971, and it was speculated that he murdered actress Sharon Tate.

Overview Of Her Biography

Rosalie Jean Willis was the first wife of American criminal Charles Manson, who was born in the United States on January 28, 1937.

She was raised by Clarence Willis and Virginia McNichr, and her parents gave her an average environment. Rosalie, the third of her parents’ four children, had a relatively average upbringing.

She spent most of her childhood in Benwood, West Virginia, with her parents and siblings. She has three siblings, two older sisters, Amy and Eileen, as well as a brother, Clarence “Buster” Willis.

However, there is no legitimate information regarding her education, but the fact is that she studied in her hometown’s school, where all of her siblings enrolled in the same school.

Unfortunately, neither her parents nor her siblings are still alive, and Rosalie Jean Willis is even no more among us. Rosalie’s ethnicity was Caucasian, and she held an American nationality.

Once She Worked As A Waitress

She had not a very bright career and lived a very simple and ordinary life throughout the span of her life.

Rosalie Willis met Charles Manson while working as a waitress in a hospital, and he would later become an infamous cultist.

Rosalie Willis was just 15 years old when she met Charles Manson, while Manson was thought to be in his twenties at the time.

Her Marriage Time period

Meet Rosalie Jean Willis

After seeing Manson for the first time, she fell in love with him and married Charles Manson on January 7, 1955, at the Nazarene Church.

Despite knowing that Charles Manson was a car repairer and a car thief at the time of their marriage, Rosalie Willis neglected the fact and hoped that her beloved husband would change.

But when Rosalie Willis realized that there was no hope of seeing her husband coming on the right path, she sued for divorce three years after their marriage.

The union was blessed with only one kid, Charles Manson Jr, in 1956. The fact is that when Rosalie Willis became pregnant, Charles Manson was in prison.

Rosalie’s Husband Was A Mysterious Man

Manson had spent more than half of his life in prison prior to the killings. Before building his cult following or mysterious career, he was a singer-songwriter outside of the Los Angeles music scene and met with Dennis Wilson of the Beach Boys, who introduced Manson to many kinds of music regarding instruments. Eventually, they introduced him to record producer Terry Melcher.

The Beach Boys recorded Manson’s song “Cease to Exist,” renamed “Never Learn Not to Love,” as a single B-side in 1968, but without giving credit to Manson.

Following that, Manson attempted but failed to acquire a record contract through Melcher.

According to Los Angeles County District Attorney Vincent Bugliosi, Manson was inspired by his interpretation of the Beatles’ lyrics and coined the phrase “Helter Skelter” to symbolize a coming cataclysmic race conflict.

During his trial, Bugliosi said that Manson meant to start a racial war, which Manson and others denied.

Contemporary interviews and prosecution witness testimony stated that the Tate-LaBianca killings were inspired by Manson’s acquaintance Bobby Beausoleil.

Manson had refused with the fact that he had ever instructed someone to murder anyone.

Due To Her Husband Illegal Activities, She Remarried Another Man

As mentioned above, Charles Manson was convicted of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder in 1971 for the deaths of seven people, including actress Sharon Tate.

The fact is that Rosalie Willis married another guy while Charles Mason was still in prison because she had little chance in her marriage with Charles Manson due to his consistent illegal activities, and then eventually, she took a decision to marry another man and be settled with him.

She thought that after visiting him continuously at the detention center, Rosalie did not see any hope for his good character.

Rosalie Willis married Jack White after her divorce from Charles Manson. Rosalie Willis and Jack were blessed with two more children: Jesse J. White, born in 1958, and Jed White, born in 1959.

But the fact is that the couple parted ways due to some reasons, and then Rosalie Jean Willis married Warren Howard “Jack” Handley.

They had a good connection, but it wasn’t meant to stay for a long period. The reason was that things got worse for her when she had to watch all of her children die in front of her eyes.

Her Son Shot Him At The Age Of 37

The fact is that Charles Manson Jr., who was Rosalie’s first child, was unable to escape his father’s shadow and committed suicide at the age of 37.

It was because he failed to overcome the pain of being the son of a killer.

It’s difficult to imagine the agony Rosalie endured, but she did. Rosalie had to see the deaths of all the children throughout her life.

Aside from the death of Charles Manson Jr., whom she nicknamed Jay White, her children from her second marriage also perished.

The tragedy began in January 1971 with the loss of her 11-year-old son Jed. His death was allegedly caused by an accident in which her companion shot him in the gut.

His death was apparently caused by an accident in which her companion shot him in the gut when they were playing.

Similarly, her second kid, Jesse, was discovered dead in his automobile at the age of 28. According to rumors, he and his friend were drinking at a bar in Houston, Texas, on the night of his death. His death was said to be the result of a drug overdose.

Moving further, Rosali stood 165 cm (5.5 ft) tall and weighed 60kg at the time of her death.

Rosalie Died Of Lung Cancer

Sadly, Rosalie is no longer among us, and she died on August 21, 2009, over 11 years after the death of her third husband in 1998, according to Find a Grave.

She apparently died as a result of a lung cancer complication. She was at her home in Tucson, Arizona, when she died. Rosalie was 71 years old at the time. She was laid to rest at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Clark County, Nevada.

On the other hand, her first husband, Charles Manson, died on November 19, 2017, at the age of 83, in Bakersfield, California.
