The recent news of NASCAR superstar Martin Truex Jr.’s split from longtime girlfriend Sherry Pollex made headlines.

A recent search revealed that Martin Truex Jr. is not dating anyone right now. However, he was once involved with Sherry Pollex.

The couple’s 15-year relationship was an example to people worldwide who had overcome cancer.

They broke up just before Christmas 2020, despite their solid relationship and the overwhelming support of their supporters. 

There was shock worldwide as the announcement of the breakup came as a surprise to many people.

Famous boutique owner Sherry Pollex was diagnosed with late-stage ovarian cancer over ten years ago. 

The doctors said she’d die by Christmas if she didn’t get transferred to a specialized institution immediately.

Yet, she overcame the sickness thanks to vigorous therapy, tremendous bravery, and persistence.

The couple’s troubles did not deter them from their commitment to battling cancer. They established Martin Truex Jr.’s Foundation in 2005 to raise money to study and treat childhood cancer.

To treat the whole person, including their physical, emotional, and environmental needs, they established the Integrative Medicine Cancer Center in North Carolina.

Martin Truex Jr. may have been secretive about his personal life, but his continued devotion to Sherry Pollex after their breakup is evident in his work.

He is one of just seven drivers in the sport’s history to have accomplished this feat: winning consecutive titles in the Xfinity Series before moving up to the Premier Series. 

He currently holds the record for most victories in the Cup Series with 31, including the Busch Light Clash victory at The Coliseum that kicked off the 2023 season.

Truex made his first start in the Busch Series in 2001 at the Dover International Speedway, driving the No. 56 Chevy that belonged to his father.

Truex won the first Cup race of his career while competing for Dale Earnhardt Inc. in 2007, the second entire season that he had been employed with Dale Earnhardt Inc.

Martin Truex Jr., the son of veteran racer Martin Truex Sr., got his start in auto racing by driving go-karts on the asphalt track at the New Egypt Speedway in Central New Jersey when it was still in use (the way was later switched to dirt). 

When Truex Jr. turned 18 and was finally allowed to compete in auto races, he immediately moved up to the Modified class at Wall Stadium, where he drove for the first time in 1998. (under New Jersey regulations).

In 2000, Truex relocated further south and began renting a house from Dale Earnhardt Jr. in Mooresville, North Carolina. Truex subsequently bought a house in that location. 

As his father did, he started his racing career in the Busch North Series. He completed three full seasons from 2000 to 2002 and had restricted starts in 2003. 

Driving the family-owned No. 56 SeaWatch Chevrolet, Truex amassed 13 pole positions and five victories.

In 2001, Truex competed in the Busch Series for the first time at Dover International Speedway in the Chevrolet driven by his father. After an early mishap, he recovered and finished in the 38th position. 

In 2002, Truex participated in one race for Phoenix Racing at New Hampshire International Speedway.

He started the race in the 13th position and finished in the 29th position. In the last three races of that season, he competed for his father, with his best performance coming in sixteenth at Dover.

After starting the 2003 season with the team owned by his father, Dale Earnhardt Jr. recruited him to race the No. 81 Chance 2 Motorsports Chevy for the rest of the season.

In 2005, Truex continued to compete in the Busch Series to successfully defend his championship and win the series title for a second consecutive year. 

Along with successfully supporting his victories at Talladega and Dover International Speedway, he also won the first Busch Series points race ever to be contested outside of the United States, which took place in Mexico. 

On July 1, 2005, he secured his first victory at the Daytona International Speedway.

He and his fiancée Sherry Pollex developed an integrative medicine Cancer Center in North Carolina. 

This centre offers holistic care to people fighting against physical, emotional, and environmental cancer-related issues.

Martin has contributed to the global effort to raise awareness about ovarian cancer, a fatal disease, by helping Sherry create a website called “SherryStrong,” which is focused on ovarian cancer prevention and highlights her experience as a survivor.
