Education & Career

When Syme was about to begin her senior year of high school, she and her mother moved to Los Angeles.

There, Syme discovered a passion for the film industry and, in particular, for the films of David Lynch.

According to actor and filmmaker Scott Coffey, Syme was only 16 years old when she entered Lynch’s office for the first time.

According to Coffey, “She was a huge fan and wanted to do anything on Twin Peaks.”

Syme successfully obtained employment at Asymmetrical Productions, which Lynch owns.

Jennifer Syme began her tenure there as an intern and ended up working there for a total of five years.

The most recent of these shorts, Ellie Parker, was screened at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2001. After some time, Syme became a staff member at a record label.

She worked as a personal assistant for guitarist Dave Navarro, a member of Jane’s Addiction and then the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

Syme briefly appeared in Scott Coffey’s film Ellie Parker, released in 2005. The role credited to her as “casting chick” was a reprise of the part she played in the 2001 short film of the same title.
