American radio personality and writer Harriet Tendler is best known for being the ex-wife of late action star Charles Bronson.

His action and combat films, such as Man With a Camera, 4 for Texas, Guns of Diablo, and many more, made him most famous.

She is a proud mother of two children in addition to her work. She married Bronson for a while, and they have these kids together. 

Tendler was the actor’s first wife, and they were married out of love. Even though the couple’s marriage lasted for years, it was not able to last.

She hasn’t disclosed her mother’s identity or his name, though.  It is evident that her mother passed away at a young age because her father was described as a “widowed farmer.”

In 1947, Harriet went to her birthplace of Philadelphia as a teenager to attend the Bessie V. Hicks School of Stage, Screen, and Radio. 

She also went after a career in modeling and acting. Her ex-husband was a well-known actor who had parts in films such as Once Upon a Time in the West (1968), The Family of Cops (1995), and The Dirty Dozen (1967).

How did she first meet Charles Bronson?

When Harriet first saw Charles Bronson, her 26-year-old ex-husband, she was just 18 years old. 

At the time, he went by Charles Dennis Buchinsky, but he eventually changed it to Bronson. 

As previously stated, Buchinsky was eight batches senior to her when the two first met at the school. 

Their shared goal was to become professional actors. The ex-couple later chose to tie the knot after dating for a while. 

Nevertheless, because they were Jewish and Buchinsky was a Catholic, Harriet’s father was not pleased with their connection.

Reason for Harriet and Charles Bronson’s divorce

Harriet reared their children by herself while doing everything she could to help her husband through his difficult times.

Conversely, though, Bronson later had an affair with his younger co-star, actress Jill Ireland.

His wife supported him and helped him become one of Hollywood’s most successful performers, yet, Jill ultimately stood in the way.

After getting married on October 5, 1968, they had Zuleikha Bronson as their biological daughter. 

Sadly, on May 18, 1990, at the age of 54, she lost her life to breast cancer at their Malibu, California, home.

In December 1998, Charles Bronson and Kim Weeks tied the knot for the third time in his advanced years. Before his passing, the pair spent five years together.

The death of Charles Bronson, Harriet’s former husband

In August 1998, Charles Bronson underwent hip surgery, even though his health was deteriorating daily in his final days. 

At that point, he decided to end his acting career. According to his claims, he died of pneumonia and Alzheimer’s illness. 

Nonetheless, respiratory failure and metastatic lung cancer were listed as the cause of death on his death certificate.

At Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, the renowned actor passed away. He is laid to rest in West Windsor, Vermont’s Brownsville Cemetery.

In her interview with WAMG, Harriet stated that she has been having trouble managing her health. 

She suffered from both lung and breast cancer. Tendler also had three procedures to treat her shattered femur. She is, somehow, managing her former life.
