In May 2023, the family disclosed that Cardwell had been diagnosed with a “sporadic and very aggressive” cancer after experiencing symptoms in August 2022.

On Instagram, Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson posted a picture of her family posing together from a recent photo session.

According to her family, Cardwell passed away on Saturday at 11 p.m. at the house of her mother “Mama June” Shannon, surrounded by her loved ones.
“It hasn’t been easy watching my 29-year-old sister battle this horrible disease this last year,” Thompson mentioned, referring to Cardwell’s cancer diagnosis.
She continued, “Anna was and still is a fighter.”
Although Thompson wished Cardwell could have seen her graduate from college in the upcoming years, she expressed gratitude to be with her sister at the end of her life.
Who was Anna ‘Chickadee’ Cardwell?
As the host of the TLC reality series “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,” Cardwell gained recognition. The show followed her sister Alana Thompson (also known as “Honey Boo Boo”) as she participated in beauty pageants.
