How Did Candy Montgomery And Betty Gore Meet?
Charles Robert Pomeroy and Bertha Larean Pomeroy welcomed Betty Gore into the world in the early 1950s. Betty had two brothers named Richard and Ronnie. Her early education and childhood details are not known.
Betty fell in love with Allan Gore, her college math instructor, and the two were married in January 1970. The couple decided to move to Dallas, Texas, where after four years, they welcomed a daughter named Alisa Gore.
Betty became a teacher at R.C. Dodd Middle School in Wylie County, while Allan later found employment with the technology and defence company Rockwell International.
At the Methodist Church of Lucas, where they both attended, Betty and Candace “Candy” Montgomery first met. They instantly teamed up, but looking back, it was a dangerous friendship. Patrick and Candy were married, and together they produced two kids.
The two families got along so well that the kids alternated between staying with each family. Candy and her husband relocated to the region in 1977, although Betty and Allan had resided in Wylie for a while.
Beginning of a relationship with Betty’s husband, Candy Montgomery
Candy was fed up with her marriage but wasn’t ready to end it. Then she suggested they become friends with Allan Gore. Allan was initially against inappropriate relationships brought on by this connection.
However, after Candy’s birthday, their relationship begins to strong, and they spend much time together. Allan started to feel uneasy, and he and his wife decided to go to a marriage counsellor in Dallas every weekend; their marriage somehow improved.
They also welcomed another daughter named Bethany. In November 1979, Allan broke his relationship with Candy. Tragedy struck the following year.
The Murder of Alisa Gore’s Mother
Betty Gore was brutally murdered in her Wylie, Texas, home in June 1980 by Candy Montgomery, a neighbour and close friend who was having an affair with the happy mother-of-two. After an incident about the alleged affair, Montgomery claimed that Gore attacked her with an axe for self-defence.
Betty’s dead body, which had 41 axe wounds, was discovered. Her spouse had left for Saint Paul, Minnesota, on a professional trip. That day, He was calling continuously, and then he called their neighbours and asked them for help finding Betty.
The neighbours went to their house. They saw that the door was open and a baby was crying, who was the second daughter of Betty, Bethany.
Their neighbours found the body in the utility room, where she was dragged after her death. They told in a morning show that they saw blood and a messy house when they opened the door.
Candy’s attorneys said that Betty Gore assaulted Candy because she had an affair with her husband, and Candy killed the woman in self-defence. Allan Gore admitted having an affair with Candy when detectives questioned him.
He didn’t want a divorce, yet he wasn’t happy in his marriage. Candy brought up the possibility of having an affair, and he agreed. Every other week, the two met at hotels which went smoothly until Betty learned about it, which was well after the two had stopped their relationship.
Candy accepted in court that she did this all, but the jury closed the case by saying she did this to save herself from the attack.
