There’s no doubt that in every part of the world, thousands – if not millions – of people carry The American Dream in their eyes. For those who don’t know, the term refers to the idea of equal opportunities being available to every American, which allows them to achieve their highest aspirations and goals. Unfortunately, only a few people are able to convert this dream into reality. These are the people who strive day and night, without any support, just so they can reach the point they’ve always dreamt of. An example of such people is Oksana Kolesnikova.
Oksana Kolesnikova is a world-renowned artist. From being a young award-winning pianist to becoming the founder of three successful ventures, she has done it all. Oksana originally belongs to Russia, and moved to Florida, U.S after the fall of the Soviet Union. Since then, she has not only managed to make a successful career out of her passion for music but has also managed to excel in other fields, including mentorship, teaching, and philanthropy throughout.
Apart from being a successful pianist, Oksana is a composer, educator, innovative music, and language curriculum developer, along with being a personal mentor to the franchise owners in the Oksana® Enrichment Programs, Inc. network. She is also the founder of Oksana® Management Group, a startup that offers a number of resources for children’s scholastic enrichment, including academic tutoring, foreign language classes, and premium music lessons. From the Beginning till Now – All About Oksana’s Journey
Oksana’s journey to fame began as soon as she and her family moved to the U.S. Belonging to a supportive family, Oksana had the privilege to pursue her passion i.e. music alongside her academics. Her parents got her enrolled in music lessons after school. She went on to take part in several different musical competitions, including Florida State Young Artists Symposium Competition where she was awarded a fully-funded scholarship for the prestigious School of Music at Florida State University.
This was the beginning of Oksana’s career as a professional pianist. Soon after joining the university, Oksana was offered performances across the Sunshine State and on television, and within a span of a few months, she was able to secure a large fan following, with individuals pouring in love and appreciation for her talent from different parts of the world.
Owing to her immense talent, she was able to bag a number of achievements at the early stage of her career. Oksana also went on to become the first Russian-American female pianist to travel overseas to entertain U.S. military personnel. This included two world tours on behalf of the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation Department of the U.S. Navy and a solo tour to entertain U.S. troops in Italy, Spain, and Greece, before traveling with the Navy to Asia. Oksana’s other achievements include winning multiple awards, both local and international for her music.
Oksana’s career accelerated when she was offered to perform as the in-house pianist in the world-famous Beverly Hills Hotel’s Polo Lounge, where she got a chance to interact with a number of celebrities as well as business executives. It was during this time that Oksana started her first venture, Oksana School of Music. At first, she used to offer piano lessons only on a one-on-one basis but later developed an innovative model to cater to students with different interests and hobbies. Her venture, which evolved into Oksana Management Group, Inc. now offers several after-school programs, covers a wide range of subjects and activities and is currently implemented in 12 different schools across the U.S.
In 2019, Oksana launched her second venture, Oksana Enrichment Programs, in an attempt to further promote the cause. Through this venture, Oksana aimed to expand opportunities available to educators and aspiring entrepreneurs in the U.S. When asked about her motivation behind starting this venture, Oksana said, “I wanted to give back to the society that has given me so much fame and respect. Without my fans, I wouldn’t have been able to reach the point I am at today. Therefore, it’s my way of repaying them for all that they have done for me”.
Even while managing two full-fledged businesses, the talented star didn’t give up her passion for music. Oksana’s portfolio comprises of eight full-length music albums with a number of different tracks – original, classic, and popular. One of her albums, Free Floating, won the Best Classical Album of the Year in 2010 on SoloPiano.com. Oksana also collaborated with several famous artists including Jim Warren, and many artists have also used her albums as inspiration for their own, which is proof of how impactful her music is.

What makes Oksana Kolesnikova stand apart from those who share the stage with her is her mindset and her dedication towards whatever she does. Even after achieving all the things that most of us could only dream of, Oksana is compelled to move forward and explore new ideas and prospects, primarily to help those around her. She doesn’t really care about winning or losing – it’s the journey that excites her and gives her a sense of fulfillment.
“I am truly grateful for the things I have endured and the status I’ve achieved, but it is not in my nature to rest on any laurels,” she says, adding that once she sets her mind on something, she doesn’t stop until she achieves it. That’s the mindset that has gotten her this far in her journey.
And that’s not it – even after becoming one of the most famous Russian-American artists and a world-renowned celebrity, Oksana hasn’t forgotten her roots. Belonging to a middle-class family, Oksana had to work really hard to get where she is today. In fact, she considers herself really lucky as she’s well-aware that hardly anyone is able to make it all the way to the top from the bottom without any external support.
Oksana knows how hard it can be, and she doesn’t want the talented youth of today to go through the same. Thus, in early 2020, she founded the Oksana® Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that aims to help financially-challenged individuals particularly interested in the education and arts field. This means that not only is Oksana helping several aspiring musicians by mentoring them, but she’s also helping them turn their passion into a profession by opening doors of opportunities for them.

According to Oksana, if there’s one advice she could give to her fans, it would be to always believe in yourself and your vision and to never give up.
“When pursuing a true passion for what you do that may actually benefit others, people will take notice and most will support you in this mission. When the going gets tough, don’t lose focus – there is always that ray of sunshine at the end of the storm,” she says.
The thriving entrepreneur is truly an inspiration for all of us. She managed to successfully turn her passion into a profession, while breaking all the barriers that society usually puts up for women.
