In the fourth episode, Mark Molloy takes charge as an aging Axel Foley returns to Beverly Hills to investigate the sudden death of a dear friend.
Foley links up with a rookie police officer to expose the corruption he finds within the Beverly Hills force during his investigation. Bruckheimer reported to Empire that Gordon-Levitt and Murphy have a strong comic chemistry.
Bruckheimer told the magazine, “He gets stuck with Axel and they are hysterical together.”
Eddie has found an ideal straight man in Joseph, while Bruckheimer ensured Murphy’s performance would be nothing short of “brilliant”.
He stated, “Anytime he walks on set, you never know what you’re going to get. Every day he’s there throws you back to the ’80s.”
